Explore Our Year Round Spanish Programs & Commitments
Windom Community School
We have been part of Windom since 2010! Located in the Media Center room of the school, BLC supports working families through before and after school programming. Our goal for our program is that your child’s moments at BLC are enriching, enjoyable and rewarding. Our program offers an engaging mix of recreational activities, art projects, and academic support, while also introducing them to a Spanish environment. We also offer classes for additional learning in Cooking, Taekwondo, Arts and Theater.
Nokomis Heights Lutheran Church
At our Nokomis site, we welcome students across Minneapolis Public and surrounding schools. We proudly serve students from Spanish Immersion schools, Emerson and Green Central, as well as many other non immersion schools. At this site we continue to offer creative activities, recreational fun, and support in a Spanish immersion environment.
Summer Camp
We introduce Spanish to many families during summer, and continue the immersion experience while school is out. By following weekly themes that explore different wonders of the world, we make learning fun and hands-on. We follow a relaxed to active to relaxed routine throughout the day that is a blend of team building, arts, STEM, movement and storytelling. We are committed to bringing a summer filled with adventure, creativity and new friendships!
Christ Catholic School
In addition to our regular programs, we are proud to partner with Risen Christ Catholic School.
Our staff is dedicated to supporting families of Risen Christ where 95% of the student population is Latino, through language and fostering strong connections. We provide tutoring for students in need and before school programs for working families needing an earlier start to school. Our activities align with our mission of bridging academic disparities, through academic support, movement, and creative exploration. We hope to inspire curiosity and love for learning while enjoying their language and each other's different cultural backgrounds!
Minnehaha Academy Expansion
Two times a week we join Minnehaha Academy students in celebrating cultures and learning Spanish! Bi-Weekly we bring in guests who teach Spanish basics as well as latino dances, arts and music!
Richfield Dual Language initiative
This initiative is a cornerstone of our commitment to educational equity and community support.
We have partnered with RDLS to provide scholarships for children in need for weekly tutoring sessions taught by experienced Spanish-speaking educators. These sessions are designed to support them through their current curriculum, as well as their bilingual skills and their own individual needs.
